This set consists of 7 files of Microsoft Powerpoint-based activities that you can use at home on your computer with your child, or for online classes. Recommended for ages 5 and above.
The letters are grouped into sets which we use in our phonics programme - letters that look similar have been separated (e.g. b/d, n/u, etc.), and each earlier set contains at least one vowel. They go well with our Aa-Zz Flash Cards for introduction of the (hard) consonant and short vowel sounds!
These colourful slides help your child to practice listening to starting sounds in words, and to distinguish between very similar sounds like /b/ and /d/, /p/ and /b/, /m/ and /n/, /s/ and /x/. Note that we have excluded "x" from the starting sound activities as the most common sound of "x" (/ks/ sound) appears at the END of words like in "box" or "mix". Hence, a separate "x" ending sound activity has been included here instead.
